I would first like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to be a proud member of The Korea Hapkido Federation. I am both humbled and honored to be recommended for the level of 8 dan with the Korea Hapkido Federation, hereinafter referred to as KHF.

I have always been passionate about Hapkido as well as the Korean culture. I am providing some background and time reference to illustrate my commitment and dedication to Hapkido Jin Jung Kwan and the KHF.

I have been a full-time school owner since 1994 and currently have multiple schools under my direction.

I started by teaching TKD and HKD but realized my true passion for Hapkido. As an example of my passion and love for Hapkido, I stopped teaching TKD after returning from Korea in 2001 to focus solely on Hapkido. As a matter of fact, in 2001, I graduated from the 9th year Masters Course with the KHF held in Korea. To my knowledge I was the first non-Korean person to have attended and completed this course in Korea.

I feel it is important to point out that my last promotion in Taekwondo was to the rank of 6th dan. I never pursued further advancement because, in my heart, Hapkido was a perfect fit for me with my military mindset and what I wanted to provide for my students. I stopped teaching Taekwondo and fully devoted myself and my school to Hapkido. This was a very devastating decision, both financially as well as for the management of my school.
